CloudPaya exists to solve one problem: merchants should be able to accept cryptocurrency payments without handing control of their money to a third party.
Traditional payment processors — and even most crypto gateways — act as intermediaries that hold your funds before releasing them. CloudPaya takes a fundamentally different approach. We built a non-custodial system where customer payments go directly from the payer's wallet to the merchant's wallet on the blockchain. We never touch, hold, or have access to your funds.
This is not a philosophical choice. It is an engineering decision that eliminates an entire category of risk: frozen funds, delayed payouts, custodial insolvency, and regulatory seizures.

Our non-custodial architecture means funds never pass through CloudPaya's systems. Here is the payment flow:
CloudPaya monitors blockchain networks for incoming transactions. When a payment is confirmed, we update the transaction status in your dashboard and fire a webhook to your server. The funds are already in your wallet — we just tell you they arrived.
This means there are no payouts to wait for, no minimum thresholds, and no risk of funds being held. What the customer sends is what you receive, minus only the blockchain network fee.
CloudPaya supports the major cryptocurrencies merchants and their customers actually use:
A payment notification and monitoring service. We generate payment requests, watch the blockchain for confirmations, and notify you when payments arrive in your wallet.
A bank, exchange, custodian, or money transmitter. We do not hold funds, offer fiat conversion, or provide financial advice. We are a software tool for merchants.
This distinction matters for regulatory clarity, security, and merchant trust. Because we never custody funds, there is no scenario where CloudPaya can lose, freeze, or misappropriate your money.
